Hi - I’m new here but am a descendant of Agnes Jane (Pettit) Gibson (b1859 d1894) whose father was a Joshua Pettit married to Treacy Pool(e) both from Spartanburg, SC.

The genealogy records I have were from an Arkansas relative (now deceased) named JO Gibson who apparently traveled to SC numerous times to trace family lines.

Hi Denise,

Do I understand you correctly that you inherited the records of J. O. Gibson? I corresponded with him in the 1990s and have a few newsletters he published. One of them includes a water quality report of the old "Healing Springs" also known as Poole Springs or Pacolet Springs. J. O. worked with another cousin, Viola Jones, to clean up the Pettit cemetery near Cowpens. J.O. passed away several years ago and nobody knew what happened to his records.
