<\/a>Plat showing John George’s grave on the Pacolet River 1795.<\/p><\/div>\n
As of today (June 16, 2025) this land still belongs to the descents of William Poole. I visited the Healing Springs in 2016 and noted that the area around the river was extremely thick with brush.\u00a0 I was told that the spring was silted in in the great Pacolet flood in 1903 and had to be excavated.\u00a0 The graves may have been covered at that time as well.\u00a0 \u00a0I have not researched the George family of Spartanburg County.\u00a0 If you have and know who this John George might be, please leave a comment with info below.<\/p>\n
